There is a lot of history in these small pieces of paper. Le Papier d'Armenie is widely considered to be the first room deodorizer. While on a trip to Armenia, Auguste Ponsot discovered benzoin resin's disinfecting qualities and decided to bring it home to France. Over a century later, the incense papers are still being produced in the same factory. We love them for their simplicity and calming scent. We usually burn a strip after a bad day in the lab.

Sold as a single booklet or in packs of 3, or 6 incense booklets. They are available in two distinct fragrances.

Armenie is a reformulation of the original Papier by perfumer Francis Kurkdjian — an easing scent of benzoin, myrrh, sweet vanilla and balsam wood.

Rose is a modern take on the incense paper also redesigned by Kurkdjian. It's rich, with dual roses from Turkey and Iran, yet still fruity with notes of crushed petals.

Instructions

Tear off one strip, fold it like an accordion and place the paper on its side — making sure it is on a heat-resistant surface. Light it and blow gently so that the paper does not burn up (Papier d’Arménie should burn slowly).

The paper can also be used without burning. Tear off entire sheets and place them in wardrobes, dressers, drawers, books, etc. They will be perfumed with a subtle, delicate scent.

    Lovely smelling drawer papers

Found these in Genoa Italy! Funny they came from Quebec. I love these papers to freshen sweaters and towels

    Love them

Both the Rose and original add a light delicate scent to my space. Definitely not over powering, simply pleasant.

    AMAZING

These burn like incense, but really quick. They don’t smell burnt like incense do. The scents are beautiful and linger for hours.

    Intense

I wasn't sure what to expect with these. I got the Rose one, and when I opened it, I was sad that the scent was very much a powdery rose, something for the bathroom, and not to scent a room or put in my lingerie drawer. When I lit it, it turned into a very smoky rose, like a typical incense scent + rose (not powdery). It was more interesting but very strong. You definitely don't need to worry about the paper burning up too fast to scent the room! It's a nice smell, once in a while but I don't see myself buying this again. Unless, maybe it's better for winter time, when I want to be able to smell strong florals.

    New to me!

I’ve never tried these papers. I bought both trad. and rose. I was very excited and lit one after another. Don’t do that, esp if you have a cat! She had an adverse reaction (we tried everything in our order that night - silly!) Both are so wonderful and you only need to burn as suggested ... once or twice a week. Then it’s really special. Love the scent and nice in lingerie drawers as well!

The rose smell is so nice. I ordered a few things together, all packaged well for delivery.

    Finally found them

I've looked for them everywhere. Would always have a booklet in my apartment while I was studying in France. Great smell, great memories.
